The B.C. government has designated nearly two million hectares of land for
habitat protection that will benefit wildlife and species at risk.
With these additions, 654,037 hectares of the province is now designated
as wildlife habitat areas, with 2,265,471 hectares to protect ungulate
winter ranges.
