The Wildlife
Program's vision is to 'Maintain British Columbia's Wildlife Heritage'.
The purpose of the Wildlife Program is to encourage the appreciation
of diverse values of wildlife while ensuring that the province's
wildlife heritage is passed on in undiminished splendour and value
to future generations. Guided by the British Columbia Provincial
Wildlife Strategy to 2001, the Wildlife Program works to achieve
the following goals:
- Goal One:
Maintain diversity and abundance of native species and habitats
throughout British Columbia.
- Goal Two:
Provide a variety of opportunities for the use and enjoyment of
wildlife.
- Goal Three:
People and wildlife living in harmony (a balance between meeting
the needs of wildlife and the needs of people).
