Raptors
Best Management Practices Document - DRAFT
Abstract:
The following link leads
to the latest PDF version of the Ministry of Environment
draft document Best Management
Practices for Raptor Conservation During Urban and Rural
Land Development in British Columbia.
The document provides general background material on
raptors, including life history and habitat requirements
for 25 species whose range overlaps with urban development.
Recommendations are provided on how to best manage habitat
and minimize disturbance during critical life history
stages. This is a new document but the information presented
is readily available through other sources. The Raptors
BMP puts this material into one convenient package for
users’ convenience.
The Ministry of Environment is making this version available
so that selected stakeholders and technical experts can
provide us with feedback and comments. Once feedback
and comments are received (by February 28th, 2006) the
ministry will finalize the document for subsequent publication
on the MoE, Ecosystem Branch website.
Comments and feedback, including questions pertaining
to the document, should be directed to Dr. Grant Bracher
at:

Thank you for your participation.
