Soil
Constraints for Septic Tank Effluent Absorption MOE
Manual 5
Abstract: This
manual provides a method for assessing the constraints imposed
by existing soil conditions for conventional septic tank
systems in British Columbia with discharges of less than
13600 L/day (3000 gal/day). It explains how a soil functions
in a septic tank effluent absorption field, why soil constraints
should be determined before septic tank systems are installed,
which properties of the soil are important to absorption
field performance and how those properties can be evaluated
and rated. The manual orientated toward both protection of
public health and the environment. |
